Kaiser Health News recently published a list of the 10 most expensive markets in the country for health insurance coverage, based on the average monthly premium for a 40 year old enrolled in a silver exchange-based health plan.

The costliest market? Colorado’s ski region, including the counties surrounding Aspen and Vail. According to KHN, the high premium costs reflect higher-than-average healthcare costs for the regions. For example, in one Colorado county, the average cost of an inpatient stay was 61 percent above the state average.
