Researchers examined 225 patients who underwent an all-arthroscopic rotator cuff repair at two surgical centers. Surgeons performed 154 TOE primary rotator cuff repairs. The study included 37 small, 89 large and 19 massive rotator cuff tears.
The study results showed 92 percent of the small, 83 percent of the large and 84 percent of the massive rotator cuff tears were intact. The average postoperative pain scores improved from 3.83 to 12.77 and the mean forward flexion improved from 123.06 degrees to 162.39 degrees postoperatively. Only 17 patients reported shoulder stiffness at the follow-up.
