Ten young athletes underwent endoscopic curettage and percutaneous injection of bone substitute and were evaluated using a range of radiological and clinical methods. The mean ankle-hindfoot scale score improved from preoperative points to postoperative points. Pain and functionality scores also significantly improved after surgery.
The radiologic assessment showed no recurrence or pathologic fracture while retaining the injection of calcium phosphate cement in all cases. The patients were able to return to their initial levels of sporting activities after eight weeks.
