Researchers examined 221 patients who received minimally invasive surgical repair for acute Achilles tendon ruptures. At the average 6.2 years follow-up, the patients reported an average of 95 percent confidence interval.

Thirteen patients reported a minor wound-healing complication. Receiving a rupture significantly increased the risk of quitting or changing sports participation.
