Steven C. Ludwig, MD (University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore). Dr. Ludwig is an associate professor of orthopedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and chief of spine surgery in the department of orthopedics at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He also serves as co-director of the University of Maryland Spine Center.
Dr. Ludwig has a special interest in spinal tumors and infections, traumatic injuries to the cervical spine, sports-related spine injuries and minimally invasive surgery. He has a special interest in research as well, winning several awards for his work from institutions such as the American Orthopaedic Association Award. He serves as editor for the cervical spine in Current Opinion in Orthopaedics.
Dr. Ludwig earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University/Jefferson Medical College of Pennsylvania. His additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.
