Rothman Institute’s Dr. Javad Parvizi Earns Research Award

Javad Parvizi, MD, director of clinical research at Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, recently received the 2011 Mark Coventry Award from The Knee Society for the molecular diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infection, according to a company news release.

Dr. Parvizi has a professional interest in treating hip pain in young adults and joint preservation procedures. He earned his medical degree at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom and completed additional training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Dr. Parvizi also completed fellowship training at the University of Berne in Switzerland.

Dr. Paravizi is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Research Society.
