Orthopedic and Spine Industry Leader to Know: Dr. Arthur R. Bartolozzi of 3B Orthopaedics

Arthur R. Bartolozzi, MD, is the director of sports medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital and a surgeon with 3B Orthopaedics, both in Philadelphia. He has a professional interest in arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction and total joint replacement of the knee and shoulder. He performs more than 800 surgeries each year.

During his career, Dr. Bartolozzi has treated many professional athletes and served as the head team physician for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Flyers. He has also been head team physician for the Philadelphia Kixx Indoor Soccer Team and the Philadelphia Rage women’s basketball team. He is currently an assistant team physician for the U.S. National Soccer Team.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bartolozzi serves as a clinical associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He also conducts research on topics including shoulder surgery and has won the NEER Award for Outstanding Research from the American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons. Dr. Bartolozzi has also won the Eastern Athletic Trainer’s Association Moyer Award.

Dr. Bartolozzi is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, International Cartilage Repair Society and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Bartolozzi earned his medical degree from the University of San Diego and completed has residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed fellowships in sports medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.
