John G. Heller, MD (Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center, Atlanta). Dr. Heller began his career at Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center in 1989 and now serves as the Bau Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Emory Healthcare Network. He is a member of the Cervical Spine Research Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Council of Spine Societies and North American Spine Society.

 

Dr. Heller has a special interest in research and development of instrumentation for cervical disc replacement and laminoplasty. In addition to his clinical career, he has lectured and taught internationally and published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research has earned the Volvo Award for Low Back Pain Research and he was a Kashiwagi-Suzuki Traveling Fellow.

 

Dr. Heller earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and completed his residency at University Hospital of Cleveland. His additional training includes a fellowship with the University of California Medical Center in San Diego.
