The current system has healthcare employees self-report their criminal background. The bill would also allow state boards to suspend, deny or revoke the licenses of people with criminal offenses determined to affect the person’s ability to perform their duties.
The Indiana Senate has already approved a version of the bill that would also permit state boards to randomly select license renewal applicants for criminal checks.
