Dr. Douglas Evans to be team physician for US in international hockey tournament — 5 things to know

Sports medicine physician Douglas Evans, MD, will serve as the team physician for the American team in an international hockey tournament in Slovakia.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Evans practices at Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Medical Center.

 

2. The tournament will take place from Dec. 15 to Dec. 20.

 

3. The USA Under 17 team will play Russia, Slovakia and Switzerland.

 

4. Dr. Evans has served as the team physician for the U.S. delegation during the World University Games in Spain in 2015, Italy in 2013 and Turkey in 2011.

 

5. Specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr. Evans is an associate professor in orthopedics and rehabilitation at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
