The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine named Allen F. Anderson, MD, as its 44th president.

 

The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine presented 10 research awards and seven grants at their annual meeting this weekend. Eight surgeons receiving a research award include:

Jonathan F. Dickens, MD
– John Paul H. Rue, MD
– Kelly G. Kilcoyne, MD
– C. Dain Allred, MD
– Steven J. Svoboda, MD
– Robert T. Sullivan, MD
– John M. Tokish, MD
– Brett D. Owens MD.

 

Richard Parker, MD, and James Rosneck, MD, performed knee surgery on Cleveland Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov.

 

James R. Andrews, MD, Lars Engebretsen, MD, PhD, and J. Richard Steadman, MD, were inducted into the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine’s Hall of Fame on July 10 in Orlando.

 

Steve E. Jordan, MD, joined The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

 

Matthew Klima, MD, an orthopedic trauma surgeon, was appointed by Sarasota Memorial to the health system’s First Physicians Group.

 

Matthew E. Levy, MD, was named president of the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland Northern Ohio.
