Stacie Grossfeld, MD, at Orthopaedic Specialists is launching “Be Active, Be Healthy” in 2015 to inspire more activity and improved health for her officemates.
The Orthopaedic Specialists team of 11 includes board certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Grossfeld, two board certified physician assistants, two x-ray techs, medical records staff, insurance/billing staff and medical receptionists.
As an athlete and physician, Dr. Grossfeld said the importance of physical activity for a person’s overall health.
“I wanted to figure out a way to motivate our whole office to get more physical activity. Working in a busy office all day long doesn’t always make it easy to squeeze time in for exercise,” she says.
In an effort to make physical activity more accessible for employees, Orthopaedic Specialists will have a stationary bicycle in the office for team members to use during free time or breaks.
Another part of the “Be Active, Be Healthy” initiative pertains to tracking daily progress, so every employee at Orthopaedic Specialists will be given a Fitbit activity-tracking device.
A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Grossfeld is double board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. She is ranked in the top 10 orthopedic physicians in Louisville.
