Dr. Melancon previously served as an assistant professor in the department of orthopedics at Louisiana State University’s medical school in New Orleans. He is a former president of the Mississippi Orthopedic Society, and is a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and American Association for Hand Surgery, according to the report.
