Dr. Kathleen Weber elected to lead MLB team physicians

Kathleen Weber, MD, of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, has been elected the first female physician to lead the Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association, according to a gnomes national news service report.

Dr. Weber will assume the role of the organization’s vice president in 2015 and take on the presidency in 2016. She is the director of primary care, sports medicine and women’s sports medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.   

 

In addition to her leadership role with Rush, Dr. Weber is a team physician for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Force Women’s Football.

 

“The selection of Dr. Weber is the perfect choice,” said former MLB Team Physicians Association president Charles Bush-Joseph, MD.
