The webpage is part of AAOS’s Disaster Preparedness Plan, which was formed in conjunction with the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. The Disaster Preparedness Project Team is co-chaired by Christopher T. Born, MD, and David Teuscher, MD, with the webpage implementation overseen by current project team chair Peter G. Trafton, MD.

The website outlines a disaster preparedness plan for orthopedic surgeons who respond to provide care for populations devastated by disasters as well as instructions for becoming an AAOS-Registered Disaster Responder.
