6 key notes on North Central Baptist Hospital’s new $50M orthopedic institute

San Antonio-based Baptist Health System is planning to build a $50 million orthopedic institute at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, according to a San Antonio Express-News report.

Here are six key notes:

 

1. The three-story, 77,000-square-foot institute will double the number of inpatient beds for orthopedic surgeries.

 

2. North Central Baptist will feature 60 inpatient beds and 10 operating rooms for orthopedic care after the institute is completed.

 

3. The institute will also feature a pre-operation unit with 18 beds and a post-anesthesia care unit with 15 beds.

 

4. It will include navigational equipment for surgeons.

 

5. The institute will offer treatments such as total joint replacements, arthritis care, sports injuries and spinal care.

 

6. The orthopedic institute will open late next year.
