4 Statistics on Orthopedic Surgeon Political Views

According to the Medscape Orthopedist Lifestyle Report 2012, 47 percent of orthopedic surgeons define themselves as both fiscally and socially conservative, compared to 29 percent of all United States voters who identified themselves as both socially and fiscally conservative. On the other hand, about 10 percent of orthopedic surgeons and United States voters consider themselves both fiscally and socially liberal.

Overall, 88 percent of orthopedic surgeons said they were fiscally conservative, and only 51 percent considered themselves social liberals. Here is the break down for orthopedic surgeons:

1. Around 45 percent of orthopedic surgeons reported being fiscally and socially conservative.

2. Just over 40 percent of orthopedic surgeons considered themselves fiscally conservative but socially liberal.
