Tyber Medical receives patent allowance for extremity joint fixation system — 3 insights

Orthopedic device manufacturer Tyber Medical received a patent allowance for TyFix, an all-in-one extremity joint fixation system.

Here are three things to know:

1. The system combines an intramedullary implant to the driver, drill and broach instruments.

2. Combined with the handle kit, the system is designed to reduce procedure steps and total operative time while maintaining the holding power of a 3.0 Screw.

3. TyFix uses an optimized bone thread with a barbed head to maximize intramedullary bone purchase and compression in the proximal and distal phalanges.
