RTI Surgical hits milestone 5,000th implant for 3D interbody fusion systems

RTI Surgical Holdings’ Fortilink Interbody Fusion Systems achieved 5,000 implants with TETRAfuse 3D Technology in the U.S.

Four things to know:

1. In October 2017, the company commercially launched its Fortilink-C IBF System for use in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgeries.

2. It was the first in a line of devices utilizing the company’s 3D technology for patients with degenerative disc disease.

3. The TETRAfuse 3D Technology features a rough surface with antibacterial qualities designed to assist in fusion without compromising mechanical integrity or radiographic visibility.

4. The Fortilink-TS and -L IBF systems were later launched for use in lateral lumbar interbody fusion and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion or bilateral posterior lumbar interbody fusion surgeries, respectively.
