Three insights:

1. VIA Disc, from Vivex Biomedical, is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure to repair damaged discs resulting from degenerative disc disease.

2. The study examined the performance and safety of the VIA Disc in 224 patients.

3. The procedure involves delivering the viable allograft into a diseased disc to combat chronic lower back pain.

“I am highly encouraged by the provisional results and safety data,” said Douglas Beall, MD, principal investigator of the study. “Interventions like VIA Disc have the potential for treating moderate degenerative discs and greatly advance the alternatives to surgical intervention.”
