Dr. Nabil Ebraheim, who was suspended from the University of Toledo (Ohio) Medical Center in December, will retire Jan. 23, the university said in a Jan. 5 email to Becker's.

Zimmer Biomet signed an agreement to acquire Embody, an orthobiologics company, for $155 million.

Chicago-based Midwest Orthopedics at Rush and Rockford-based OrthoIllinois announced Jan. 3 that they aggregated and are working under the newly formed OrthoMidwest. 

Iowa City-based University of Iowa is building an orthopedic hospital set to open in 2025, The Gazette reported Jan. 4.
