The American Orthopaedic Association endorses International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance

The American Orthopaedic Association endoresed the International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance and became official official signatories of the IODA Charter.

The AOA incorporated diversity, equity and inclusion as a priority in 2017, according to a Dec. 20 news release. Since, the organization research membership diversity, DEI efforts in orthopedics and collaborated with organizations focused on diversity in the specialty.

The endorsement means the AOA will continue its efforts with DEI. The IODA is a worldwide collaboration to bring leaders in orthopedics together to promote DEI.
