Pierre Clothiaux, MD, a Springfield, Mo.-based orthopedic surgeon, has died at 68, according to a February obituary.

Rock Springs, Wyo.-based Aspen Mountain Medical Center has added Mark Conklin, MD, to its staff, according to a Feb. 21 report from WYO4News.

Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan has added Asheesh Bedi, MD, as its chief of sports medicine and executive director of sports medicine, according to a Feb. 23 report from Sports Illustrated.

Hermiston, Ore.-based Good Shepherd Health Care System has added two orthopedic surgeons to its team, according to a Feb. 22 report from the East Oregonian.

Liberal, Kan.-based Southwest Medical Center orthopedic surgeon Firas Kawtharani, MD, has added minimally invasive anterior hip replacements to its roster of procedures. 

Bethlehem, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute is adding orthopedic and podiatric surgeon Christopher Bibbo, DO, and orthopedic surgeon Daniel Farber, MD, to its team in March. 

While it is critical for orthopedic surgeons to keep up with ever-changing robotic and AI developments, there are a number of other skills practitioners should hone, including financial acumen and soft skills.
