Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic founder dies at 85

Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic founding member Doug Henderson, MD, has died at 85, according to an April 3 report from The Palm Beach Post.

Dr. Henderson died the morning of April 3. 

In addition to founding Tallahassee Orthopedic, he spent 40 years as a team physician for Florida State University’s athletics department. 

Dr. Henderson and Tom Haney, MD, co-founded TOC in 1974. It was the first practice in the area dedicated exclusively to orthopedic care. They were both inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.

Dr. Henderson also served as a surgeon for the U.S. Air Force and completed training in both cardiology and orthopedics.
