5 Hospital for Special Surgery leadership appointments to know

So far in 2026 New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has named several leaders.

1. Anne Marie McDonald, EdD, RN, was named chief nursing executive.

2. Austin Fragomen, MD, was named chief of its Limb Lengthening and Complex Reconstruction Service

3. Anca Dinu Askanase, MD, was named chair of the department of medicine and chief of the division of rheumatology.

4. Valarie McPherson, DNP, was named vice president of ambulatory operations and clinical services.

5. Joel Press, MD, was named physician-in-chief.
