New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has named Valarie McPherson, DNP, as vice president of ambulatory operations and clinical services, effective April 27.
In the newly created role, Ms. McPherson will oversee systemwide ambulatory operations, including ASCs, outpatient clinics and select ancillary services. She will focus on operational performance, standardization and coordination across sites, according to an April 16 news release.
The role supports HSS’s efforts to expand and integrate its ambulatory footprint across the New York tristate region.
Ms. McPherson most recently served as COO and chief nursing officer of Glen Ridge, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center. She brings more than 25 years of experience leading clinical and operational functions.
