Here are three details:
1. With the donation, the children’s hospital acquired an O-arm to help patients with spinal deformities.
2. Michelle Welborn, MD, a spine surgeon at Shriners Hospital for Children — Portland, is among those benefiting from the O-arm installment.
3. Mr. Casper died at 81 of lung cancer. According to his granddaughter, he was “larger than life” and incredibly generous.
“It made me feel absolutely wonderful,” said Ms. Casper about the donation, according to The Columbian. “It’s probably the best thing I’ve done in my lifetime. To think that the two of us worked so hard for every penny we had, and to think that we were able to save and save, and be able to do that was outstanding.”
