Here are five notes:
1. KLAS found that Modernizing Medicine’s clients appreciated that the company tailors its EMR system, called EMA, specifically to orthopedic groups.
2. Built on structured data by practicing orthopedic surgeons, EMA is designed to adapt to each provider’s unique practice.
3. The system features mobile, touch and cloud-based technology to increase efficiency when orthopedic surgeons move through exams.
4. In addition to EMA, the Modernizing Medicine orthopedics suite includes orthopedic practice management, revenue cycle management, analytics and a merit-based incentive payment system.
5. KLAS interviewed 120 healthcare professionals, including orthopedists, chief medical information officers, practice administrators and nurses, at hospitals and independent orthopedic clinics for the study.
