Here are three things to know:
1. Joseph DeWitt, DO, is among the orthopedic surgeons using 3D modeling to perform surgery.
2. The process involves uploading a patient’s CT scans a computer that produces a 3D model of the patient’s spine. Dr. DeWitt and his team then determine the levels that needed to be fused.
3. The 3D models are designed to give surgeons the ability to more precisely insert implants and hardware to address curvature and lordosis.
