Emory Health, Atlanta Hawks to build sports medicine center: 4 things to know

Georgia-based Emory Health and the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club are working to build a sports medicine center, according to NBA.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The center will serve as the Atlanta Hawks’ official practice site.

 

2. This summer, Emory Health and the Hawks plan to break ground on the facility.

 

3. The facility will be 90,000 square feet with Emory Health allotting 30,000 square feet for preventative and rehabilitative treatment as well as sports medicine training.

 

4. Emory Health will also become the Atlanta Hawk’s official sports medicine provider.

 

“Emory Healthcare has built outstanding orthopedics services over the past decade and we are excited to continue to grow this area and work closely with the Atlanta Hawks,” said Jonathan S. Lewin, MD, president, CEO and chairman of Emory Healthcare’s board.
