Swedesboro, N.J.-based Kingsway Regional High School will partner with Rothman Institute in Philadelphia starting next year for the district's new sports medicine program, according to the Courier-Post.

Here are four highlights:

1. The program, titled Sports Medicine Seminar and Practicum, was developed jointly by Kingsway Regional teachers and Rothman officials.

2. Kingsway Regional high school seniors in the two-year Sports Medicine Seminar and Practicum course must complete a semester of the course on Kingsway Regional's campus before starting the practicum with Rothman. The experiences will be monitored under the direction of assigned Rothman mentors who are paired with students based on their specific orthopedics interest.

3. Last year, the district unveiled a practicum partnership with St. Francis Veterinary Hospital in Swedesboro to support the high school's animal-science elective.

4. Rothman Institute is internationally recognized for excellence in orthopedic science and technology.
