Dr. Neal ElAttrache to perform elbow surgery on St. Louis Cardinals’ Marco Gonzales: 4 notes

Neal ElAttrache, MD, will perform Tommy John surgery on St. Louis Cardinals’ left-hander Marco Gonzales, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.

Here are four notes:

 

1. Mr. Gonzales will be sidelined for at least a year following the surgery.

 

2. Dr. ElAttrache serves as chairman of the board and program director for the fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

 

3. He serves as team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He acts as an orthopedic consultant to the Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Rams, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings and the PGA Tour.

 

4. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and NFL Physicians Society.
