Spine surgeons on the move in February

In February spine surgeons added to their titles in new leadership roles.

Note: This is not an exhaustive list.

1. Neurosurgeon Anthony Asher, MD, was named president of Prisma Health Neurosciences Institute in Greenville, S.C.

2. The Charlottesville-based University of Virginia School of Medicine has appointed Aaron Dumont, MD, as chair of its department of neurosurgery. He begins the role in June.

3. Paul Kim, MD, was named chair of neurosurgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Advocate Health’s Charlotte, N.C. campus.

4. SynerFuse, a spinal fusion medical device company, has appointed Nameer Haider, MD, as chief innovation officer.

5. Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Neb., added Lonnie Loutzenhiser, MD.
