French spine surgeon Dr. Keyvan Mazda passes away

Keyvan Mazda, MD, 69, passed away, Tehran Times reports.

Dr. Mazda was a pediatric spine surgery professor at Hôpital Robert Debré in Paris, France. He partnered with Zanjireh Omid International Charity Institute in 2007 and traveled to Iran to perform surgeries on underprivileged children four times a year. 

Dr. Mazda’s pediatric spinal deformity research was published in a variety of peer-reviewed scientific journals. He developed the universal clamp for scoliosis spinal fusion surgery along with Brice Ilharreborde, MD.
