VB Spine pushes into the market: 5 things to know

VB Spine, a new spine medtech company that came onto the market in 2025, is positioning itself to be a potential leader with a slew of acquisitions and partnerships.

VB Spine is under investment firm Viscogliosi Brothers, which also owns Companion Spine.

Here are five key moves to know:

1. VB Spine formed in April after Viscogliosi Brothers completed its acquisition of Stryker’s U.S. spine business. VB Spine is a strategic partner to Stryker with exclusive access to Mako Spine and Copilot.

2. In January VB Spine also acquired Stryker’s manufacturing facility in Cestas, France. The acquisition will play a central role in VB Spine’s global manufacturing strategy.

3. VB Spine in September joined the American Spine Registry as an industry sponsor.

4. VB Spine has entered into an agreement with Robotron Surgical Technologies to acquire the SpineHawk platform in January. The initial SpineHawk platform offering will include visualization-enabled instruments and a high-definition camera console.

5. In February VB Spine made another play in the spine visualization market with its plans to acquire exclusive rights to Augmedics’ AR xvision spine system.
