VB Spine has entered into an agreement with Robotron Surgical Technologies to acquire the SpineHawk platform.

The company will add Robotron’s single-use visualization-enabled spinal instruments, software-enabled intraoperative image recognition technology and related intellectual property to its portfolio, according to a Jan. 15 news release from VB Spine.

The initial SpineHawk platform offering will include visualization-enabled instruments and a high-definition camera console. The technology applies machine-learning-based image recognition to intraoperative video streams, enabling surgeons to interpret spinal anatomy in real time.

Robotron Surgical Technologies will support VB Spine in expanding the platform going forward.

SpineHawk is not currently available for sale. VB Spine is planning to submit a 510(k) to the FDA in the first half of 2026, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
