There have been several spine and orthopedic legal disputes involving device patents in the last two years. Some have involved different companies, and others have involved surgeons.

Premia Spine's TOPS System is now available at Veterns Affairs hospitals across the U.S., the devicemaker said Dec. 15.

Spinal Simplicity's Liberty-SI Lateral implant system earned FDA 510(k) clearance, the devicemaker said Dec. 11.
