OrthoSensor is in its fourth year and has raised $42 million in venture capital. The company has worked on other orthopedic implants, including units to transmit data to physicians on internal temperature, blood acidity levels and infection indicators.
The new device, the knee balancer, will aim to achieve more accurate implant placement and reduce the need for revision surgery.
