GE Healthcare receives FDA clearance for MAGiC MR technique: 5 things to know

The FDA cleared GE Healthcare’s MAGiC multi-contrast MR technique, according to DOTmed.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. MAGiC offers physicians more data in less time, compared to traditional scans.

 

2. GE Healthcare created the technique with SyntheticMR AB.

 

3. The companies built the new technique off SyntheticMR’s IMAGE software, which allows providers to modify MR images retrospectively.

 

4. To receive clearance, GE Healthcare presented the FDA with a multi-center blind study on MAGiC scans’ image quality.

 

5. The technology allows for a deeper analysis of tissues.
