4 medtech notes: Stryker, Accelus and more

From an acquisition to leadership changes, here are four key developments from spine and orthopedic medtech companies since May 30.

1. Orthopedic and spine surgery designer and manufacturer SurGenTec has entered a three-year contract with supply and procurement leader Premier. 

2. Stryker signed a definitive agreement to acquire Artelon, a company that makes soft tissue fixation products for foot and ankle and sports medicine.

3. ZSFab’s InterConnect 3D-printed Ti lumbar interbody system was used in its first U.S. clinical cases at Tulsa (Okla.) Spine & Specialty Hospital.

4. Greg Tibbitts was named interim CFO of Accelus.
