Stryker to acquire orthopedic company

Stryker signed a definitive agreement to acquire Artelon, a company that makes soft tissue fixation products for foot and ankle and sports medicine.

The acquisition grows Stryker’s soft tissue fixation portfolio, according to a June 3 news release. Artelon’s products have technology designed to enhance biological and mechanical ligament and tendon reconstruction, and have been used in more than 60,000 cases worldwide. 

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
