Myrtle Beach, S.C.-based OrthoSC surgeon Justin Brothers, MD, has performed 1,000 robotic joint replacements using the DePuy Synthes Velys system.

Think Surgical has reached a new robotic milestone, as its Tmini miniature robotic system has been used in over 500 total knee replacement procedures, according to the company in a Jan. 14 news release. 

Glendale, Ariz.-based Abrazo Arrowhead added Medtronic's StealthStation S8 spine navigation system.

Think Surgical's TMini robot was used with Medacta International's GMK Sphere implant for the first time, the robotics company said Jan. 7. 

Jonesboro, Ark.-based NEA Baptist has added the Mako SmartRobotics system for hip replacement procedures, according to a Jan. 2 report from NEA Report.

Ronceverte, W.Va.-based CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, part of Charleston, W.Va.-based Vandalia Health, has added a new orthopedic robot. 

Providence Swedish, a partnership between Renton, Wash.-based Providence and Seattle-based Swedish Health, plans to add a Globus GPS robot for back surgeries at St. Peter Hospital, in Olympia, Wash., according to a Dec. 30 report from Thurston Talk.
