The new technology from Mazor Robotics— an Israeli medical device company that focuses on spine surgery — helps surgeons place screws accurately during minimally invasive procedures.

The robot is combined with a navigation system that allows the surgeon to see the screws in real-time as he places them.

According to Mazor Robotics representatives, the only other hospital in Illinois using this technology is Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
