2. Cori differs from competing robotic devices in three areas, according to Smith+Nephew. The device is smaller, doesn’t rely on preoperative imaging and features a handheld tool surgeons can use with their own techniques.
3. Palms West Hospital installed the robot to meet the increasing needs of residents in the community — about 58,000 residents of Palm Beach County, Fla., are at high risk for osteoarthritis, according to the report.
4. Knee replacement surgeries in the U.S. are projected to increase by 180 percent by 2030, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
