The new robotic-assisted systems are Cori, by Smith+Nephew, and Velys, by DePuy Synthes.
Cori creates 3D joint models during surgery using image-free smart mapping, eliminating the need to rely on CT and MRI scans. Additionally, the robot allows surgeons to personalize each procedure to the patient’s specific anatomy through real-time planning capabilities.
Velys uses an advanced technology to offer insight and adaptable execution to enhance procedure efficiency and improve patient outcomes.
The two additions join the practice’s Stryker Mako system for a total of three robotic-assisted surgery options, which aim to enhance the precision and outcomes of orthopedic surgery, according to an Aug. 1 press release Coastal Orthopedics shared with Becker’s.
