1. Surgeons from Fishers-based Central Indiana Orthopedics completed their 1,000th surgery with Stryker’s Mako robot.
2. San Francisco-based Roam Robotics is partnering with San Francisco VA Health Care System and San Francisco-based Northern California Institute for Research and Education to evaluate its Ascend smart brace in veterans.
3. The first procedures using Johnson & Johnson’s Velys total knee robot were completed in Australia. The robot debuted at The Mater Hospital Sydney and is approved for use with Johnson & Johnson’s Attune total knee system.
4. Physicians at Akron, Ohio-based Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center have performed more than 2,000 robotic-assisted joint replacements with Stryker’s Mako system.
5. Physicians at Covington, La.-based Avala Hospital have completed more than 2,000 robotic-assisted surgeries since it began offering the technology in 2018. Avala is the only hospital in Louisiana offering robotic surgery for total hip, partial and total knee, and spine procedures, officials said in a Dec. 28 news release.
6. Orthopedic surgeons at Batesville, Ark.-based White River Medical Center completed the hospital’s 1,000th joint replacement procedure using Stryker’s Mako system.
