What you should know:
1. Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Glens Falls (N.Y.) Hospital installed Mako robotic arms. Saratoga Hospital will offer patients access to the Mako arm through OrthoNY in Albany.
2. Previously, the hospital’s satisfaction rate among total joint replacement patients was around 80 percent. Early survey results showed a roughly 15 percent increase in patient satisfaction.
3. Saratoga Hospital surgeon Bill O’Connor, MD, said Stryker made the joint replacement robot more affordable due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
