Western Reserve Hospital completes total femur replacement surgery

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio-based Western Reserve Hospital completed its first ever total femur replacement surgery, according to a Hudson Hub Times report.

Douglas Chonko, DO, performed the procedure, which is a complex surgery that replaces the hip, knee and femur. The operation was performed in October and took three hours.

 

The hospital aims to help patients fully prepare for their surgeries and offers a Joint Academy program that educates patients before procedures, according to the report.
