Here are three things to know:
1. The study queried 149 patients prior to ARCR surgery to determine why they chose the procedure.
2. Other reasons for choosing the surgery including chronic pain alleviation, concern over the injury worsening from tear enlargement and sleep difficulties due to discomfort.
3. Michael McDermott, MD, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Santa Rosa (Calif.) Orthopaedics, presented the study.
