Since orthopedic devicemaker Exactech began recalling hip, knee and ankle implants in 2021, the company has faced a wave of lawsuits from patients. Now, the FDA has issued a new warning regarding the company's shoulder joint replacement system. 

Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio. are the most expensive cities in the U.S. to undergo total hip replacement surgery, according to Healthcare Bluebook, which helps patients shop for affordable care in their area.

Orthopedic surgery is one of the least diverse medical specialties with regards to women, people of color and LGBTQ+ surgeons. Organizations such as Pride Ortho are working to change that.
